About

alternateplanet ("alternate planet in an alternate time") was the personal site of Tarun Bulchandani, online from February 2004. This copy was rebuilt in 2026 from what could be recovered of its earlier versions.

What the site was

• 2004: a hand-built site with a Blogger weblog called "Impressions" (first post on 2 February 2004), plus pages on SAP and work.
• 2004 to 2008: a content management system (phpwcms) holding SAP tips, work pages and other sections.
• 2008 to 2009: WordPress, with the Blogger posts imported.
• 2009 to 2010: WordPress with addresses of the form /YYYY/MM/post-name/, mostly SAP notes and technology posts. The last post is from December 2010.

How this copy was made

Posts come from archived copies of the WordPress site, an export of the Blogger weblog and a copy on wordpress.com. Each post keeps its original publication date. A post that had an address of the form /YYYY/MM/post-name/ keeps it. Posts that only ever existed on Blogger or under /?p=ID have an address of the same shape. Old /?p=ID, /?cat=N, /?m=YYYYMM and Blogger weekly archive addresses forward to the matching page.

Some images and some comments were lost and could not be recovered. Where an image is missing, the page says so. Comments are shown as text, without their links.

Pages from the earlier versions of the site are under From the old site.
